"I'll make my own reservation for the flight. I may stay
until tomorrow."

"As you like; it's up to you. See you this afternoon.
Sorry it has to be his way. I still love you, so don't forget
that."

Kristal had just arrived in his office when Ripley opened
the door. "Come in, now how was our weekend?"

"We got twenty-eight deals for the weekend, with three new
people writing. Your girl was the number one new writer; she got
six deals."

"So she wrote one Sunday?"

"Yes, but she seemed very disappointed that you weren't
there to congratulate her."

Just then Diane buzzed to announce Schroud on the phone.

"Tell him I'm on long distance to call back in five minutes.
Also, tell Tom to come to my office."

Tom opened the door of the office to be greeted without
prologue by Jay's irritated question. "You know who's calling?"

"Sure. I was waiting for you. Hell you know I can't talk
to the man. He thinks I'm just part of the furniture. How
many deals did your people write this weekend? We only got
twelve."

"O.K. we got twenty-eight."

"Wow, man, that's a total of forty for the weekend; that
should blow his mind."
